As a child, I was always curious and desired to understand how things worked. Inadvertently this meant many toys and other items around the house would end up disassembled. I wanted to understand and see how items fit together to create the finished objects we all see. I’d often take those disassembled parts and build them into my own creation.  Thank God, rather than my parents getting angry or frustrated, they instead gave me a junk box! I could tear apart and rebuild items into new things as much as I wanted! 

These projects gave me a sharp eye for recognizing shapes, details, and small components I feel others would miss. Along with that recognition, came the knowledge on how things were put together and worked. Probably to a degree, these things fed my struggle with perfectionism. 

As I grew my desire to create grew as well, leading me into the arts. Even Now, as I prepare to graduate from college, I continue to search for more avenues to express my curiosity. College has afforded me the opportunity to hone my skills and knowledge. My hope throughout the rest of my life and career is to continue to learn and gain knowledge. I strive to never lose that childlike desire to understand and create.
